Had a Long Weekend?!

Let's face it.  We have all been there, Tuesday rolls around after a long holiday weekend, such as the one we just had.....and your eyes are puffy, you look tired and worn out, and your hair leaves something to be desired.  Don't worry, there are some great easy tricks you can use to make yourself look human again!

First, If you know you are going to be drinking alcohol or eating salty foods, ensure that you drink lots of water, as this will help reduce puffiness in the face.  Also, propping your head up on two pillows will help reduce water retention in the face.

If its already too late for that, then try this:

Wrap a bag of frozen veggies with a thin towel, and place over your eyes for ten minutes.  This will stimulate circulation and help reduce puffiness.  After this, try an under eye roller treatment such as the VICHY Aqualia Thermal Eye Roller.  Use the roller ball to massage product under and around eyes, which will promote tightening of the delicate skin.  TIP: Keep your eye creams in the refrigerator for ultimate effect!

Next, your immediate response to a tired, puffy face is probably to cake on the makeup to try to cover up your debaucherous weekend, but DON'T.  Excessive use of concealer and other makeup will make you look like you are trying too hard to make up your face.  Instead, choose a lightweight coverage under eye concealer such as the MAKE UP FOR EVER Lift Concealer, which contains vitamins a and e to rejevenate the eyes as it covers up.  Dab a small amount on dark circles and blend into skin.  Instead of foundation, use a tinted moisturizer in a shade that is one lighter than your color.  TIP: For added radiance on a dull skin day, use a brightening primer such as the URBAN DECAY Complexion Primer Potion - Brightening.  It contains age fighting ingredients along with a slight shimmer to brighten your dull, tired face.

Finish off your look with mascara and a light colored gloss, and you are good to go.  Remember, when you are tired and puffy, you want to look awake and alive, so this is not the time for a smoky eye or a crimson lip!
