HELLO FLAWLESS: LASHES FOR DAYS

Posted by STETSON CREATIVE Wednesday, April 6, 2011

Baffled by the magnitude of lashes on the models in mascara ads?  Your lashes may not get the extreme length and volume of the false lashes that are applied for those pictures, but you can get close if you follow a few steps.

1. CURL
Using a lash curler, clamp at the roots, the center, and tip for 5 seconds each.

2. PRIME
The hottest tool in the cosmetics business right now is lash primer serum, which allows you to use less mascara for the same, or greater effect.  (Using less mascara means a less-clumpy, more natural look.)

DIOR DiorShow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum

$28 - Fine Department Stores Nationwide

3. MASCARA
You want to add length AND volume, so go for a good quality brand.  You can spend $10 each at a drug store on one that volumizes and one that lengthens, when you can just get one good one that does both!  Work from the outside in, jiggling the brush to get an even coat.  Don't forget a light sweep along the lower lashes!

BENEFIT BadGal Lash
Really pump it up with this over sized brush for that almost-falsie look!

$19 - Sephora Stores www.sephora.com

4. LINER
Adding black liner along the lash line will really pump up the volume on the appearance of your lashes.  Whether you prefer liquid, pencil, or other is up to you....just apply it carefully as to not mess up your flawless lashes!
