SPRING CLEANING: RESTOCK

Posted by STETSON CREATIVE Thursday, March 24, 2011

Now that you have tossed half of the makeup you didn't know had gone bad, you may need to restock a few essentials.  If you follow these easy steps, you will have these smoothest shopping experience possible.

1. CLEAN FACE
The best way to apply makeup is with a clean face, so if possible, head to the store with as little makeup on as possible, which will allow the staff to asses your skin coloring and texture to determine the right products for you.

2. TIMING
Head to the stores before noon or after 6pm, when the crowds aren't as distracting, and you are more apt to find what you need quicker, and get attention from the salesperson.  If you desire a full makeover, call and make an appointment, and you are sure to be given plenty of time!

3. KNOW WHAT YOU NEED
Its easy to spend hours on a cosmetics floor testing every single product out there.  If you are thrilled with the products you were using before, why change them? If you are open to exploring a new brand or product, let the sales people know what you are looking for.

4. SET ASIDE A BUDGET
The sales people are trained to sell you products that you may not have come in for, or that are out of your price range.  Set a budget in your head, whether $1000 or $100, and stick to it, this will help the staff find products best fitted to your needs.

5. STAY STANDING
Though the staff will always try to get you to sit in their chairs, try to keep the contact brief.  Customers who sit typically buy at least three products, so if you are only looking for lipstick, stick to that.
